The Sarajevo Grave Digger

Piotr worked for the International Council of Missing Persons as a forensic anthropologist.  He’s the guy who exhumed the mass war graves of the Yugoslavian conflict and “gave the dead their names back.” By reassembling skeletons and matching DNA his team identified the missing and gave closure to the living.

It should have been depressing but was uplifting

For reasons still unknown Piotr was a happy person who made those around him laugh. He was not without his faults, but filming him inspired the move to go global. Happiness and meaning are created by all peoples. Our job is to start documenting how they do it.

If you are a filmmaker

You won’t hurt our feelings if you skip around this YouTube video clip.  We’re looking for collaborators who can deliver 24 or 30fps MPEG video.  A suggested production guidelines WIKI is under construction and we need help there too.

If you’re just a good soul

Thank you for evaluating 5in500.  The clip contains no gore or violence. There is one scene where workers stand in a warehouse filled with human remains, but viewers tend to find it moving not disturbing.
