5in500 is a social media project – not for profit – that is documenting 500 life stories that embody transcendence, happiness and meaning.

Video has been democratized. Anyone can shoot and post to YouTube. Twitter makes it possible for geographically dispersed collaborators to create in near realtime. Together with this blog we are coordinating the recruitment of:
- 152 filmmakers from around the world. One from each country recognized by the United Nations and two extra for those countries not yet officially recognized (and you know who you are)
- Sponsors – to provide prizes for the top 100 submissions based on YouTube viewer traffic. These people deserve recognition and the opportunity to take their film to the next level.
- Advisory Board – you know who you are. We need your expertise on:
